Un arbuste ou une vigne brouillée. Il y a des épines crochues sur les tiges. Les plantes sont séparément mâles et femelles. Les feuilles sont composées et alternes. Les feuilles sont épineuses en dessous et ont également de petits poils. Il y a 5 à 9 folioles et elles mesurent 5 à 10 cm de long sur 2 à 5 cm de large. Un groupe de fleurs se produit à l'aisselle des feuilles ou à l'extrémité des branches. Les fleurs ont 4 pétales. Ils sont de couleur crème, jaune ou rose. Ils mesurent 2 mm de long. Le fruit est un follicule rouge. Il mesure 4 à 7 mm de long et de large et possède une graine. La graine est noire et mesure 4-5 mm de long{{{0(+x) (traduction automatique).
