Un arbre de 15-20 m de haut. L'écorce est grise. Les petites branches sont rougeâtres et velues aux extrémités. Les feuilles sont éparpillées. La tige de la feuille mesure 2 à 4 cm de long. Le limbe de la feuille est ovale ou en forme d'épée et mesure de 6 à 17 cm de long sur 2 à 5 cm de large. Les deux surfaces des feuilles ont des poils brun rougeâtre dense. Le fruit est une baie verte qui devient pourpre rougeâtre. Il n'a qu'une tige de fruit très courte. Le fruit est charnu, juteux et de bon goût{{{0(+x) (traduction automatique).
