Description :
Un arbre de taille moyenne. Il atteint 25 m de haut. Le tronc est souvent très blanc ou argenté et peut mesurer 2,5 m de diamètre. Les feuilles poussent par paires opposées. La tige de la feuille a une rainure le long de celle-ci. Les feuilles mesurent 3,5 à 9 cm de long sur 1,3 à 5 cm de large. Ils sont en forme d'oeuf et la pointe se rétrécit en un point. Le bord des feuilles est enroulé vers l'intérieur et ondulé. La nervure médiane est enfoncée sur la surface supérieure de la feuille et soulevée sous la feuille. Il y a jusqu'à 20 paires de veines latérales très fines. Les feuilles sont vert foncé et brillantes dessus et plus pâles dessous. Les fleurs sont blanches ou avec une teinte violette. Ils se produisent en grappes dans les angles des feuilles ou aux extrémités des branches. Les fruits mesurent 1,9 cm de long et sont rouges à maturité. Ils ont une couronne au sommet.
