Description :
Une grande paume droite. Les plantes atteignent environ 20 m de haut. Le tronc mesure 30 cm de diamètre. Le tronc a des anneaux et est gris pâle. La base est gonflée juste au-dessus du sol. La couronne est arrondie. Les feuilles sont finement divisées et d'un vert brillant. Ils peuvent être d'un vert plus pâle et avec une couche de cire en dessous. Ils sont dressés et étalés mais peuvent s'affaisser. Ils sont divisés sur environ la moitié de leur longueur puis à nouveau divisés en lobes finement pointus qui s'affaissent. Les jeunes plantes ont des feuilles rougeâtres. Les feuilles mesurent 2 m de long et sont épineuses sur le bord près de la base. Les feuilles sont épaisses et fortement côtelées. La tige fleurie est longue, dressée et robuste. Ils ont des bractées serrées. Les fleurs sont crème. Les fruits sont d'un noir brillant.
