Description :
Une herbe annuelle dressée. Il pousse de 10 à 80 cm de haut. Il n'a pas beaucoup de branches et celles-ci proviennent de la base. Il est finement velu et légèrement boisé. Les feuilles sont portées l'une après l'autre le long des côtés opposés de la tige. Les feuilles ont de longues tiges (3-7 cm) et la lame est comme une scie le long du bord. Le limbe mesure 3 à 8 cm de long sur 2 à 5 cm de large. Les feuilles sont couvertes de poils simples pointant vers le bas. Les fleurs se développent sur des épis raides, de 3 à 6 cm de long, à l'aisselle des feuilles et à l'extrémité des branches. Il peut y avoir 1 ou 2 à 4 pointes ensemble. Les fleurs mâles et femelles sont séparées sur le même épi. Les fleurs mâles sont au-dessus et les femelles en dessous. Les fleurs femelles sont vertes et les mâles blanches. Le fruit est une capsule d'environ 2 mm de diamètre qui s'ouvre. Les graines sont ovales et mesurent environ 1,3 mm de long.
