    Il pousse en vivant sur les racines d'autres plantes. Il pousse sur les espèces Euphorbia. La plante forme des rhizomes verruqueux juste sous la surface. Ceux-ci sont à 5 ou 6 angles. Les fleurs sont de couleur chair et proviennent de cette tige souterraine. Les fleurs mesurent 15 cm de long et sont rugueuses et verruqueuses à l'extérieur. Les fleurs ont 3-4 lobes charnus dressés. Ils ont une substance spongieuse blanche sur leur face interne. Ceux-ci produisent une odeur de matière en décomposition.
